Simple Joys of Summer

Happy Solstice!

AKA First Day of Summer

Hanging Baskets

It's officially summer, and while vacations are great, some of the best things about summer happen right here at home. As of today, we have nineteen hours and twenty-one minutes of daylight in Anchorage, and the other four and a half aren't really dark, so there's plenty of time for summer fun. Here are a few of my favorite things about summer.

Summer Fruit

Wildflowers

Duckings, all in a row

Reading on the Deck

Sun Tea

And Roxy loves summer, too.

Hope yours is just as joyful!

  1. I have to confess.... Summer is my least favorite season (but probably because I live in San Diego where the winters are pretty nice!). But, even with summer not being my fave, I do LOVE summer fruit!! Thanks for stopping by Pooch Smooches the other day!

  2. I can see that. Our summers temperatures are probably not far from your winters, but with more daylight. Summer is the payoff for making it through winter.

Relocating to Alaska after a family tragedy seemed an ideal way for author R.D. “Mac” Macleod to grieve in peace. But solitude feels overrated when Mac’s around B&B owner Ursula Anderson and her orphaned goddaughter, Rory, who’s already bonding with his dog. Worse, he’s imagining a future with Ursula and Rory. Is it time to finally forgive himself?
